Suggestions from our Staff team

'I would advise anyone weaning a child to persevere with it. Children need to taste a food upto 10 times to know if they like it or not. Also try different spoons or bowls till you find the one that suits you and your child!'

Caitlin Mitchell, Deputy Manager

'I found it helpful to give my child an empty bowl and two spoons (one for each hand) so they didn't keep trying to grab the one I was feeding them with' Lucy Pottinger, Nursery Manager

'Finger foods are excellent if you choose to do baby led weaning, when I was being weaned I took the food from my mothers plate and ate what she ate. It's great for fine motor skills and babies will eat what they can and spit out what they can't' Julie Syme, Kitchen assistant
