Recipe of the Week (7th July 2023)

We have decided to share our most popular dishes that our children enjoy with our families. We will do this each week and will even

happily include some family favourites if people would like to share them with us.


This week it is the very popular Turkey Bolognese! This dish is a firm favourite with all the children and staff, and is one of our biggest sellers when we offer meals for sale. If you would like to us to provide suggestions of ingreidents to change for different dietary requirements, please message us and we will be happy to do so. Turkey Bolognese ( serves 4)


Ingredient list

● 160g Turkey Mince

● 2 carrots (diced)

● 1 large red onion (diced)

● 2 sticks celery (sliced)

● 1 garlic clove/ 1 tsp garlic puree

● 1 tbsp mixed herbs

● 2 tsp smoked paprika

● 400g chopped tomatoes ( 1 can)

● 1 tbsp Tomato Puree

● 1 bay leaf

● 1⁄2 tsp cinnamon

● 1 tsp ground coriander

● 200g pasta (uncooked weight)

● 1 tbsp oil

● Salt & pepper to taste


Method

1. Put a pan over a high heat, add the oil and warm slightly. Add onions,

carrots and celery. Cook without colour until carrots are soft but not mush.

2. Add mince and cook until turkey mince is white. Add garlic, herbs, bay leaf &

spices, mix through

3. Add tomatoes and tomato puree, mix through and reduce heat to a simmer.

Add salt & pepper to taste

4. In a separate pan, boil some water and cook pasta according to the packet.

5. Once cooked drain pasta and add to sauce, coat pasta with sauce and mix

together
