Choosing a nursery

Here at Grass Roots Day Nursery we understand that choosing a nursery for your child can be a daunting task, there are so many questions and options. We strive to make this process as smooth as possible, for both you and your child. We hope that you find our website helpful and informative. However, parents and carers are welcome to visit us whenever suits you, we actively encourage you to come and look round and discuss any needs or questions with us.

If you make the decision to join our Grass Roots family then we will offer you the opportunity of a home visit. A member of the management team and the practitioner who will be your child’s keyworker, will come and visit you and your child at home. We feel this is an important opportunity for you and your child to meet the team in a familiar environment and for us to get to know a bit more about you both.

Next we will offer you some settling in sessions, this usually three sessions. For the first session you would come for a stay and play session for an hour or two, for the second session you would come to stay and play at first and then leave your child for a little while (you are welcome to stay in the building) and thirdly your child would attend by themselves over a meal time (usually lunch). We understand each child is different and we can be flexible about how many sessions you think your child will need. All these sessions are free of charge and we are happy to play these by ear. These sessions are usually in the week or two before you child is booked in to start with us, depending on how many you feel your child will need.
